First Day at UiTMPP

Faiz, man of the hour.

The second eldest cousin by rank, Faiz Fuad, made it into college yesterday. He registered into Kolej Kediaman Zamrud, high on the fourth floor of the high-rise, at the UiTMPP in Seberang jaya by noon. His siblings helped.

Looking for bedbugs.. Bunkie-baddie...

All hands make light work

Bed all done, big bro!!

That was hardddd work. Pizza, pizza to the rescue...

Just look at the bedroom view!!

They'll miss him, though! He's been their chief cook at home ever since he could handle a frying pan, and now second in command Imran will have to take up the slack. And be daddy's new caddy, too, on the links.

Hmm.. His major? He'll be a chef when he graduates.

Good Luck, Faiz, from all of us here in the US! Get that cooking degree and make millions!!

House behind Horace Mann

We saw another house today. It's one we'd seen earlier in the year, but needed to revisit before making a final decision on one other we were looking at...

View from the road leading up..Note the school wall beyond the house...

Backyard shot, from the side...
Back of house, malay house-like patio
Shot taken from Horace Mann's playground...

The playground...

You know, it is just so strange, to see through the eyes of a five year old.. or what he could do with a camera in his little hands..

Bye!! Have a Safe Trip Home!!

Sarah, biotech graduate, flew home to Seremban, Malaysia, last weekend, this time for good. She was a friend of the family, the kids and my wife, especially, whenever we were at State College visiting Amin. The few cookouts done with and for the Malaysian community there were always with her and her friends' collaboration. It was sad to lose another, but she'd earned her leave.
Here she is with our two kiddies...
And the farewell group picture..

Checking the metal detectors to see if they are still in good order..

On the other side of the glass..

Big bird ready to taxi..

Till we meet again, someday!

Strawberry Picking at Way Fruit Farm

Way Fruit Farm
2355 Halfmoon Valley Road
Port Matilda
(814) 692-5211

Last weekend was more exciting than most. We spent time at Amin's place just becos Sarah, one of the graduated PSU students, was leaving the next day. So while waiting for the airport rendezvous, Amin took us to Stormstown, to the strawberry patch there.
The berries were awesome!!

It was my first time at a strawberry patch,

and for Pah.

The kids, too. Here's L-man and his catch.

MMMMMmmmm!!

Muhsin lost in the sea of strawberry bushes.

Farmers at work...
H-man getting his pants red. Juicy red!

At the end of the day, Amin and Aishah got over nine pounds worth, while on our side, we gathered over fifteen pounds of the juicy, delectable treats. Here's Amin and Cah with their stash.

Pah and Hana getting half of ours across the road to the farmhouse.

A farm toy...

and a fruiting cherry tree..

It was an experience to be so close to nature.
