Happy Anniversary, Ayah & Mak

Yesterday, Sept 9, was Opah's and Tok Ayah's Anniversary...They were married on this date in 1959. That's what I remember my dad telling me. Here's them at Newark Airport in Oct of 1999...

JV's First Game

We went to see Wasil and his JV gang play Ringgold. It was such a nice day. We got there after it started since we had to go to the library first to send back books. But no matter; we enjoyed being in the stands and seeing the teams play.

Misc Acts...

I noticed a nail stuck right in the middle of the LR tire thread two days ago! So I took Subie to the local Sears Auto facility to fix the affected wheel. I asked them to do a visual on the other three, balance and rotate all four wheels. They went one up and asked if I'd want a 4-wheel alignment done. It had seen at least 20K miles under me already, so why not. How about the oil? I told them that's not due for another two hundred miles, but they could go ahead with that, too. So after two hours of moseying at the mall with Pah while waiting, Subie was finally ready. I wanted to see if the road noise would still be there. Well, the Subie drive to the lake was okay, and the noise was still audible. But we realised then that we haven't seen Yellow Creek for over a month!!
Then, we had our BBQ fired up for hotdogging purposes... Hamzah had asked almost daily when our next BBQ would be, and I'd always felt it was the next possible day. So this wasn't a bad idea at all...

Finally, yesterday, Pah took out some corns, filed them to the cob and made some cok udangs for tea. One of the nicest days, and coq udang with ahmed's London tea and Lingam's 100 year old sauce recipe made for a good, fulfilling munchy. One up for the last days of summer...
