Yesterday was our turn to cook for the HUB Iftar meeting. We couldn't be there for a few reasons; one, because Amin and Aishah were returning, two, Wasil needing to be at the Homecoming game, and three, the fact that there weren't enough food during the earlier meetings. But we made dishes to cater for about 30 people, and perhaps 15 came. Which was fine, cos finally, the food was more than enough. WE did the briyani rice, the chicken, the salad, and the fruitbowl. Mai was the other household who did the other four dishes. Between both families, we finally solved the food problem!
There were some problems, however, that needed addressing. Nabeel, the President wasn't there to coordinate things. Adel was the only one there at 6:55, but he needed to call Nabeel up for instructions. And the room wasn't open; apparently it was not reserved? But Dan, the Hub's night supervisor, was really nice to let us use the Allegheny Room anyway. He deserves a pat in the back. Nice fellow. And maybe, since this is the first week of Ramadhan and daily iftars there, there were bound to be problems. Things should settle down very quickly now...
